Snippz for YouTube Recenzje App

This App Needs to be Removed from the App Store. It doesn’t do what it says it does at all. Not intuitive totally frustrating. No customer support. I guess I can’t give zero stars.

I’ve been using SNIPPZ for about 5 years, it started off GREAT, but for the last year or so it’s been plagued with errors and at times simply does not function as intended. Currently none of my prior videos will play, it won’t connect to my YouTube account and any new videos I try to snip and save/add can not be retrieved in the “My Videos” section….because it does not open. I’m severely disappointed, especially after paying for additional features that I can no longer use!!!

My students and I used Snippz for years, loved it. One day, it didn’t work anymore, it wouldn’t load any tunes. My students and I have had the same experience. I get absolutely no response when I try to “contact” Snippz, unlike many times before. Totally frustrating!

This was my go to app for learning music. But for months it hasn’t played YouTube videos. I used to write the developer and get a response. This time I have tried several times and nothing. It is frustrating because I paid for add ons in this app, and now nothing works. It seems there should at least be some notice if an app is going out of business.

I loved that app and its been 5 month its not working my life is not the same .

I constantly get a “Error the current video cannot be played” on videos the app has plays for me in the past. When videos do play I only get video, there is a mute button that cannot be toggled to off. Lastly, when I can get sound, the videos are constantly freezing and then I will usually get the error message listed above. I have tried to use this app with over 50 music videos and I have experienced a least one of these errors with every single one.

Goes above and beyond! Very useful app.

Purchased app about 10 years ago. It’s been a headache using it. It locks up constantly. I use apple as my iOS. Seems every time there is an update the creator of app never gets it completely right and have to contact him for a fix. Tired of asking him anymore so I’m just not going to use it and will go for something else. This is not a good app for the long term.

Wish this would work like it does sometimes! Whew, have to restart it lots… the idea is good if could keep it working… ive used it for years and it seems like its not getting better but worse.. I wanna use it

I’ve used Snippz for a few years now as my primary method of analyzing and learning songs based off of YouTube vids. Being able to isolate a section of a video, loop it, slow it down and zoom in on it is invaluable! Here’s a feature request: the ability to name each snip and then have a list view of the named sections and jump to them. Thanks!

Doesn’t work

I really like this app! Super easy to make loop sections of YouTube videos and with a swipe of a finger can slow the video down. It does seem to crash once when loading it up for the First time each day. My only real complaint would be I wish the play button was a tap on the center of the screen (currently this hides the timeline). Switch that functionality and it’s great! ————— Update - I uninstalled the app and then reinstalled it and I haven’t had a crash since and I’m running the latest iOS… so just fyi in case it helps anyone. This is seriously the best app for learning guitar.

Will not let play videos and keeps shutting down

This is an excellent app for teaching my music students! I've shared it with musicians friends as well. Thanks for working out the problems! 88TM. If it could be used with the air drop to my TV would be really help those with visual difficulties.

Could have been a great app. But currently does not function at all (for YouTube videos). Seems like every new update breaks the app. I’m tired if wasting hours trying get this crap app to work. I’m done. Good riddance

When I first got this app worked fine a couple years ago. But now it rarely downloads the video I want. And when I do download the video it doesn’t play. At least not all the time. And when it does play and I snip portions of the video it won’t let me delete or remove the Snippz that I made. It’s very user unfriendly and frustrating. I am in search of another app that will do similar things

This app is indispensable. My only Picadillo is that I wish it wouldn’t ask every time whether you want to start from the beginning or from the last point; just start from the last point. But this is a small complaint; I use it all the time.

I use this app, Anytune, and AudioStretch to figure out difficult piano pieces. I love it and am glad I paid for the full version. UPDATE 11.29.20 Is there a way to change the file name for videos I've uploaded from iPhone photos? They all have a generic name (something like "MOV" + date) which makes it very difficult to identify a given file I've uploaded. Sometimes a thumbnail image can provide a clue, but more often than not, its trial and error to find the right video want to select Thanks for an awesome app. I use it almost daily!

I logged out and back in and it is back to working fine. October 13, 2020 The new version won’t load any videos onto my iPad Pro, no matter the function I use. ************************ Older There are two things I wish Snippz could do: make it easier to set and change loops that are close to each other; start, stop, and stop repeat/repeat loops when on the full screen without needing the control bar. Still, creating loops, repeating them, moving between them, changing speeds -- easy and just about perfect. June 7, New Version The update takes care of my concerns and more. Lovely.

Can’t load anything from youtube. App is broken.

Snippz allows you to slow down, speed up, and replay small snippets of videos. It also gives you quick finger swipe access to as many snippets as you have created for a video. And they’re color coordinated for easy reference. It makes learning from lessons or even just cover videos much easier and faster than simply hitting repeat on YouTube or other video players. Great resource for learning from videos!

The app was down for a few weeks with an update issue and boy did I miss it. They quickly fixed the problem, but I tried some other apps while it was down. Nothing else does what this does as simply and easily. If you wanna transcribe or practice an instrument from video nothing is better. Works perfectly and super easy. I just would love to use it with a larger screen and better definition. Makes transcription of guitar parts easy, the audio is still useable down to 1/00 speed

Also very annoying having to make an account sign-in. The Facebook and Google sign-in functions are broken. Can’t believe they expect anyone to pay for this garbage.

App fails to do anything. Can’t search, no options.. Had to just use YouTube instead I guess

This app is the greatest teaching aid I have to learn piano pieces played by youtube piano tutors. Looping, speed control, zoom....on and on with the features!!!! If you need to study video in detail the way I do, I highly recommend this.

This app is the tool you need to learn music off of YouTube I have tried other apps to learn songs off of you tube but this one is best. I liken it to The Amazing Slowdowner app but for video

Makes it dramatically easier to focus on a section of music, set up loops and change speeds. Plus the swipe-based user interface is very clever and makes everything faster.

SNIPPZ is HIP!!

Snippz MUST track last position of a watched video. Often it will reset to the beginning if you touch the wrong spot or take to long time to play the video. Please have it keep track of the play location in the last few videos.

This app is great but has bugs, at least on my iPad. It gets confused easily and often faults out when I restart a previously opened track. But it’s otherwise awesome.

Can’t even try the app out without logging in.

Can’t save videos, won’t store recent videos in history either. I have to keep searching for the same video in you tube to watch it. Not worth the money paid for purchase.

Needs a bigger pause button. Some videos stop loading. Frustrating! This app could be great but certain videos stop working. Please fix it!

This app is very useful when learning new songs. The only stumbling block is the tiny “play/pause” on the left side of the screen. Tapping anywhere in the center of the screen would be a much more convenient and efficient way of pausing and playback. Otherwise a great and highly recommended app.

These folks have created a good app. Works fine. But they have decided to gouge you for money for everything. You can’t even create a slowed down video of more than a minute long unless you pay $2.99! That is a blatant ripoff. I found other apps just as good but not as greedy.

Yes, you can find a site on YouTube, but unless each video has a name on it, you won’t be able to find it. This browser does not recognize links. Consequently, I am unable to match the video with this app. This seems like a pretty obvious need and a very blatant screwup.

The video I’m mainly trying to work with only works half the time

What a pleasure to be able to isolate and slow down riff station

I love the concept behind this app as I am an aspiring guitar player and this allows me to not only slow down YouTube videos but also zoom into those aspects of the right or left hand of a guitar player to observe more carefully. The problem for me is that the app constantly crashes on me. The app allows you to record different segments of videos, which in theory is a great idea. The problem is that the app doesn’t always execute as intended. For example you might record 1:20 of a video to 1:40 and then 2:15 to 2:25 and so forth, allowing you to later play back only the sections of the video that are important to you. Let’s say you record 4 different sections of a song on YouTube and the idea behind this app is that you can jump from one of your recorded sections to the other and skip the parts that you don’t want to see. The problem is that when I’m swiping forward or backwards to go from one section to the next, it often takes me back to the very beginning of the video. Very frustrating when this happens! And as I said other times it will crash. Once the bugs are worked out this will be a great app.

Works well and I like the features!

Teach yourself to play any tune by ear! Zoom the tune down to ultra slow and gradually speed it up. Love this ap!

Useful learning tool. I liked it better when it was simpler and faster. Now you have to create an account. At least make that part optional.

Snippy is a great app to loop YouTube videos and easy to use . 2 wishes : 1. If it could be a way set up loops more precisely by 10th of seconds 2.if it could be possible to slow down more the videos

This is an awesome ap, I just wish you could change the pitch too at times.

I use this app to speed up an audiobook i'm reading, and it works superbly. It loads fast (with decent wifi/service) and a perfect tool. Great job developers.
